How to distinguish between N-type and P-type modules
How to Distinguish Between N-type and P-type Modules.Today, Hengyuantai will introduce four points to help distinguish between N-type and P-type modules.
Observe the top and bottom surfaces of the photovoltaic module: The substrate of an N-type module is N-type silicon, and the top surface is P-type silicon, so the top surface is the positive terminal and the bottom surface is the negative terminal. The substrate of a P-type module is P-type silicon, and the top surface is N-type silicon, so the top surface is the negative terminal and the bottom surface is the positive terminal.
Check the direction of the busbars on the front of the photovoltaic module: By observing the busbars welded on the top and bottom surfaces of the photovoltaic module, you can determine their direction.
Check the positive and negative terminal markings on the junction box at the back of the module: Identify whether the busbar wires coming from the cells are connected to the positive or negative terminal.
Distinguish the P-type and N-type modules based on the positive or negative terminal on the top surface: If the bottom surface is the positive terminal, the module is a P-type; if the bottom surface is the negative terminal, the module is an N-type.
